I'm a Party of One

June 26, 2007 / by billyb

It seems as if abortion is not really a hot topic anymore but it still weighs on my mind. Though I am agnostic I see the life of a child as something quite precious and not to be wasted as a mere incovenience. "I'm not ready for a child and it's my body"
This devaluing of life seems to be a result of the humanist movement which I may have aided.
And though I have no numbers or date to back it up I feel that the biggest movers in the proabortion camp are vehemently opposed to the death penalty. It's really ironic isn't it?

[SMILE] Moral quandaries only happen to those who try to think for themselves. It is far more comfortable to blindly follow the herd. I am a Deist who also tries to think for himself and its not always easy. You have a very good post!

The term is pro-choice not pro-abortion and since you disagree with it why don't you not get an abortion and leave other women out of your personal choices.

I agree with you on so much why the hostility here?

You can say pro-choice but some of the more militant feminists groups, or at least one, are pro-abortioon. It is emphasized as the choice rather than a choice. To me it seems like that group figures if the right is not exercised it might be lost and that it must alos be used to emphasize womens power.

Since my tax money goes to support it I do have a dog in this fight. What somebody does is none of my business until they use my money to do it.
