Living in Atlanta, the heart of the New South, I often see bumper stickers proclaiming "When Clinton lied nobody died" and "F the President". Apparently, New South means ignorant, undereducated, and classless.
Just recently I saw a sticker that asked "Has Anyone Seen My Bill of Rights?" This made me wonder: A, does this guy know even two of his rights in the Constitution?; and B, what rights has our evil unelected president taken away? (Oh crap! He was elected...twice)
I guess the driver was pissed because our President has not done anything to allow same sex marriages. Remeber the good old days of FDR, Truman, Kennedy, LBJ, Carter, and Clinton when gays were pairing up like no other time in history? Frankly, I imagine most people don't give a hoot in hell about marriages be they gay or straight. And even some, but not most, realize that it is a state issue and not federal.
Maybe this driver was regretting the fact that he can no longer receive collect calls from some wanna-be martyr in Terrorstan without the FBI eavesdropping. Call me paranoid, but I just assumed that every administration was monitoring overseas call, checking emails and looking at the books I've checked out from the library; if not for public safety then to check for "divisive" behavior or "hate speech".
Was this guy worried about freedom of speech. Nah, see the above paragraph. Remember the Clinton years when it was a sin to be divisive?
Was he concerned about his right to bear arms? No, Bush is protecting that.
Was he fearful of his right to assembly? Not in Atlanta he wan't. We have more marches for peace, welfare, free drugs, free needles, free shit, and candle light vigils in 6 months than there are Social Science majors in professional sports.
Perhaps this guy wasn't a Democrat complaining about his president but a Republican complaining of his new Congress. It's the only thing that makes sense.

First, you won correct point is free speech zones. If they are as I understand them they are wrong. There is no justification. Still, free speech does exist.
Now where you are incorrect. The Dems siezed guns in New Orleans not the Republicans. George Bush was elected twice. Finally, when have hostiles who fought out of a uniform ever had rights under our Constitution? They are not entitled to rights and freedoms that you and I have. During the Battle of the Bulge Nazi infiltrators in US uniforms wer executed and rightfully so.
Now, where I give you a tie or draw. I did not write that YOU did not know the Bill of Rights, that the driver of this truck did not (probably). Certainly you would agree with me that the majority of Americans are too lazy, and frankly, too stupid to know such a thing. It is unfortunate that more people can tell you who won last years Superbowl than who their state senators are.
Again, thank you for your post. Obviously we will never agree but we can "play nice"

Thanks for aiming at the issues and not my typping. I never use spellcheck.
Later,
(And some goof wants to point at the Republicans and talk about lost rights?)
Take care,
Welcome to blogster, and thanks for your post on my site the other day. In reading your replies above you sound like a person who believes in discourse instead of trying to outshout someone - something I greatly appreciate.
